Melissa S. Craib Dombrowski
Stage Director, Theatre Educator, Choreographer
Melissa is a theatre director, educator, arts administrator and stage manager based in Durham, NC. She was the first recipient of the Charles H. Hume Memorial Award, and has studied with the programs at CSU Sacramento and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She received her BA (Hons) Degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Middlesex University (London, UK). Melissa’s work has been recognized in regional awards including Best Director, Best Adapted Script, and Best Choreographer.
Her directing credits include Ride the Cyclone, Into the Woods, Pirates of Penzance, Urinetown, Godspell, Romeo and Juliet, All in the Timing, and Oleanna. She currently serves as the Artistic Director for the Durham Savoyards and founded the Stone Soup Theatre Company in 2021. She also works as the Director of Operations for Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts (CHSMA). Melissa is proud to be an associate member of the SDC (Stage Directors and Choreographers Society), MTEA (the Musical Theatre Educators Alliance) and NCTAE (North Carolina Theatre Arts Educators).
